Finally after months, I have the final set of custom gauntlets to show you. Someday I'll get better at this whole blog thing. Because in the time since my last post, I have new custom orders to show you. Someday, I promise, someday.
Well let's get down to business. The first of the gauntlets is this beauty. It's done in all 24kt gold seed beads. It has rows of 4mm black metal studs and is on red leather. It's finished with a black lace up. It's quite the eye catcher. I really like this one. It's not bead embroidery, it's all peyote stitch, which I was quite proud of. That's a lot of gold.
Last, but definitely not least, is this beauty. This gauntlet has to be one of the most intricate things I have every made. I mean look at it. It's all bead embroidered with 24kt gold, red, black, and white beads. It is accented with 4mm black metal studs. All on black leather. It was then finished with black and gold lace ups.
Look at it! Look at it! It weighs a ton and is absolutely beautiful in person. My client was so excited to get it. He wore it that night to an event.
These gauntlets were so much fun to do. They really pushed me to work outside my comfort zone, which is always a good thing. They also gave me so many ideas for the future. They are pretty unique and I think I might make a few more. So stay tuned for that.
So that is the third and final installment of some of my custom orders. I've been pretty busy with my little one and I'm loving being a mom, but I've also been working on a few other things. I've got a few more custom orders to share and then some new things I've been working on. I've also applied for a show this coming holiday season, so I'll keep everyone posted on that. Hopefully I'll be accepted and I can get out and about again (since it's been a year or two since I've been to a show).
Don't forget that I'm still offering 15% off your order over in my Etsy shop. That's 15% off everything including clearance and patterns. Just use BABY2016 when you check out.
