A few weeks ago I talked about my favorite bead board. The one that I've been using for years. The one that I love more than anything. Well this week I talk about a new bead board. One that I've been using on a new project. Don't worry, I still love my old bead board, but it's always good to try something new.

I have been working on a few projects that require a lot of beads. I normally just make little piles on my bead board and go from there, but I was thinking there might be a better way. So off I went on my journey to find a better way to sort all of my beads.
Enter this beauty. I found this lovely bead board from Woodland Ukraine on Etsy. They have a large selection of different designs and boards, so there is something for everyone.
It is made in Ukraine, so I wasn't sure how long it would take to get it. But I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly it was shipped and how quickly it got to me. Even with COVID, natural disasters, and mail slow downs, this made it to me in short order. Which was great!
So let's talk about the board.
Let's first talk about how beautiful it is. I really is a nicely made board. The top is beautiful and who doesn't love something beautiful to work with. It just makes beading that much better. The board is all wood and very well made.
Now let's talk about the actual bead dividers. The board I ordered had 11 little compartments. So that means I can now organize up to 11 different beads for larger projects. Each little compartment is a nice size for smaller beads. I wasn't able to put larger beads in them, but they do have larger options available, so if you use larger beads, I would suggest looking into those.
The compartments are smooth, so no beads or thread get caught on the board. The center compartment has a little branded logo, which is nice, but my tiny antique beads got a little stuck in there. This won't be a problem if you are using 11/0 size seed beads.
So when I talked about my absolute favorite bead board, I talked a lot about the lid. Like a I was obsessed with it (I might be a little bit). But I'll tell you, I have pets and a preschooler running around my house (a lot more than normal, now that we're doing virtual school). I need something that keeps my beads from flying onto the floor every three seconds. I NEED A FREAKING LID!
This bead board delivers. It has this beautiful lid that is held on by really powerful magnets. I've put a variety of sized seed beads in there and gave it a good shake and everything stayed in their respective compartments. So that's a huge plus for me. I haven't thrown in on the floor yet, so I can't say how well the lid would stay on if dropped forcefully.
And the magnets double as a needle holder. I've even stuck my small scissors to them and they stayed in place. So that's kinda a nice little addition.
The only downside of the magnets is that sometimes they grab before you are ready and the two parts come together without warning and you spill a few beads. I just learned to make sure I was paying attention before putting the lid on. So just be careful and make sure our paying attention.
The best part is this lovely little board fits in my Stranger Things lunchbox. Which means I can throw it in there and take it and all my supplies with me. I know, most of you probably don't use a metal lunchbox for your traveling bead room, but for me this was a plus.
Woodland Ukraine has a number of different bead organizers (as well as some other really neat items).
They have some that have bottom trays for large items and tools. They have some that are super fun shapes.
They have some that have two different size bead compartments (which is the one I should have gotten). They also have some with clear tops so that you can see all of your pretties.
Overall, I was really impressed with this bead organizer. I still love my Bead Buddy board with the fabric because I think it's easier to pick up beads. There was a learning curve with this one that I had to get over (when I first started, I was flinging beads everywhere), but it didn't take me long to get the hang of it. But if you are looking for a way to organize a bunch of different colors or types of beads, this is a great option. Check out Wooden Ukraine on Etsy today.
