Is it really the holidays already?

'Where did this year go? I'm serious, I feel like it was just New Years. How can it be the Holidays already? I'm sure everyone is feeling that way right now. It's just crazy.

This year was a busy year for me and my family. We celebrated our daughter's first birthday. We remodeled a basement room into a speak easy (crazy I know). We finally went on our belated honeymoon (we just got back and miss beautiful Mexico already). I had my first craft show in a few years (it was a bust, but at least I got back in the swing of things). We go to celebrate our best friends' weeding. It was a great year. 

But now it's getting cold outside and it's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas. About family gatherings and friends you haven't seen all year. It's time for hearty soups and hot cocoa. Mittens and warm hearths. Oh the holidays.

It's also time to start shopping for Christmas gifts. I just want to remind everyone this year to buy local and handmade. You're not just buying an independent artist's work. You're making it possible for them to continue doing what they love, to pay their mortgage, and get gifts for their loved ones. It means the world to us artists when people give our items as gifts.
