![]() So it's been almost a year since I last posted something; about 9 months. So what have I been up to? Well, to be honest, not a whole bunch. I finished up some custom work. A few beaded gauntlets and a few beaded cuffs. I'll have some more photos of those later on. Once I got all my custom work finished, I decided to take a break from beading. It was just a temporary break. To be honest, I was just to damn exhausted to work on anything. Why, you ask. Well, I started a new position at work. I found a new research lab to work in and I'm back up to full time. I really love my new lab and I'm very lucky to have found it. I love my students and my PI and I love the work we do. It really helped me realize that I do love working in research. It's just been a crazy time. We went from just me and my PI to me, my PI, a research intern, two PhD students, and two undergrads. And two vet students will be starting in May. Crazy, but worth it! ![]() Let's see, what else have I been up to? Oh yeah, we added a new member to our family. My husband and I welcomed our first child; our little baby girl in March. I was absolutely exhausted during my pregnancy (and working 10+ hour days didn't help). I had a fairly straight forward pregnancy, but I did have my ups and downs. I had gestational diabetes; with no family history and no risk factors. Good news, it was diet controlled. Bad news, I couldn't have potatoes during my pregnancy, that was terrible. I'm not going to lie, I hated pregnancy. I love my little girl so much and I would do it again, but I was very happy once it was over. And believe it or not, I'm less tired now with a one month old then I was while I was pregnant. I actually fell asleep in the middle of dinner once, that's how tired I was. So motherhood is my latest adventure, and I am absolutely loving it. As I write this I am looking at my little angel sleeping and I'm thinking about how much I just want to hug and kiss and cuddle with her. Now that's not to say that things have been easy adjusting to our new lives. Both my husband and me have had to learn how to adjust our lifestyles to this new little one. It's not been easy, but it's been worth it. It also helps that little S is a very good baby (let's hope that lasts). That's the big news. That's what's been taking up most of my time; my beautiful baby girl. I am getting back into the swing of things. Designing new patterns and sketching new ideas. And hopefully, I'll be able to keep up with this website and the blog. I don't promise a daily post, but I will try to get something up here once a week (or every other week). I hope to see you soon!
