The cuff is an entry in the Etsy Beadweaver's Fairy Tale challenge. I was so excited about this, I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as it was announced.
I have always loved Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, they are two of my favorite books; both as a child and as an adult. They are full with colorful characters that you can't help to love. And one of my favorite characters is the Cheshire Cat. I love him, I always have. So I knew I had to do a cuff of my favorite character.
This cuff is my interpretation of the Cheshire Cat. A little evil, a little mischievous, a little sly and cunning. Is his grin welcoming or is it something else?
This cuff was hand bead embroidered using tiny seed beads and a lapis cab for each eye. It was then backed with green leather and trimmed with blue and pink beads. The cuff is finished with two snaps. It measures 2 1/2 inches wide and 6 1/2 inches long.

All items are beaded using high quality Japanese cylinder beads. Items are handmade in my small studio in South Central Wisconsin.
